Was re-watching an episode from the walking dead the other day.
I love that show so much, decided to take one of the better known characters and do a inspired sketch from him. don't know where i got the style from just popped into my head.
started this the other day. need to finnish off daryl and add background. who knows there could be zombies lurking around as well. :)

character design
was thinking of watching The Lone Ranger and that got me thinking about native americans.
got some cool ideas running around my head.
heres one!
character design
With the summer here it gives me the time to be able to work on my own personal work which i love to do, without any college distractions!
sometimes i don't even know what i'm about to put down on the page, you just have to let your hand and brain take you on a journey and see what comes out at the end!! this was one of those moments.
hope you all like!
feedback is appreciated!
i don't know what you would call it but its something!

i soon began working on a background lightly. i'm thinking of some sort of strange jungle.
i haven't continued on working on the background but i will get around to it some day!
Visual Language project.
The project was to create an environment that was related to yourself and the take your studio practice animation to play over the background. for studio i had myself trying to grab a falling piece of paper and catching it while i work.
the reason for room was based on my bedroom which i where i do most of my work from. the giant stacks of paper are animation paper building up show the amount of pages need for just one animation.

working down: Thumbnail sketch, colour thumbnail, line drawing layout, digital line drawing, final colour layout and black and white version.
digital work completed on an ipad.
Lip Sync Animation
This was the last computer animation project that i handed in this year. i was quite happy with the way the acting came across. i still think it need some fixing here and there any some stronger poses but i was happy with the overall product.
Demo reel.
Here is my first ever animation demo reel. the work shown is taken from the last 2 years of college and from some personal work that i do from home. i hope to improve my skills as the years run by so any feedback would be great!
Character Design
A few doodles done on an ipad. these where done three weeks after i finished up for my year of college. i hadn't drawn in three weeks, it was good to get back into the swing of things!
Realistic Layout (pan shot)
this is a Layout that i was working on during my time in college this year. the project was to make the layout realistic. i am not to comfortable doing realistic drawing, mostly my layouts have a more 'imaginative style'. but i have to say i enjoying this. It really challenged me to try my best to keep the look.. well, real! the other step was to then render the layout. i have the rendering done but unfortunately my scanner is not working so the rendered image will come at a later stage. stay tuned!
life drawing part one.
hi all! this is my first post on the new blog. been planning for the past year to get around to making one so i suppose with the free summer time, now is the perfect time to start!
I thought i would start things off with some Life Drawing from this year in college.
these two where 30 second poses. i love gesture drawing, there is something about just being able to be expressive and not as controlling with your drawing which can really help animators with there flow in there line and work.
When you stop yourself from just making a pretty picture and start trying to capture the movement, line and gesture of the figure you will see great improvements in your work.

These two where sustained drawings. they last around 15 to 20 mins.
